Being passionate about sports and nature since he was a child, Caio has a degree in Physical Education from the University of São Paulo, with a specialization in Outdoor Education and Paramedicine in remote areas.
Caio worked for years in sports training for adventure racing, triathlon and Olympic canoeing, but it was participating in expeditions with Outward Bound Brasil and NOLS Amazônia that he fell in love with the concept of experiential education and the power of immersion in nature.
Certified as a NOLS Instructor in hiking, ocean canoeing and Canadian canoeing since 2012, Hiking instructor at Outward Bound Brazil, Instructor of white water kayaking and canoeing by the American Canoe Association, educator Master Leave No Trace, specialist in first aid WFR by SOLO and NOLS and EMT-B emergency medicine technician from the state of Alaska, USA.
Currently, Caio divides his time with his family between Alaska and Brazil working as a rescuer and educator outdoors.
